The Ipswich & Suffolk Tech Network is about to pass the baton. As the network winds down in its current form, a new chapter begins with the creation of the Innovate Suffolk Talent Network to build on everything we’ve learned, carrying forward the same commitment to community, education, and collaboration into the future.
What’s Different Now?
As the Ipswich & Suffolk Tech Network draws to a close, we recognise this isn’t simply an ending, it’s an evolution. The pace of change in our region, and in technology itself, means that no single model or structure can stay static for long. While many of our past efforts; talks, meetups, schemes, and communities, had good intentions, they often lacked the resilience to last. With the Innovate Suffolk Talent Network, we’re creating something more adaptable: a space where people from any technology specialism can come together with educators to build skills, share legacy knowledge, and ensure local curriculums reflect real-world needs.
This is a Suffolk project, run by Suffolk people, for Suffolk people so that the economic opportunities promised for our county filter down to every small business, every classroom, and every individual. When we say community, we don’t just mean sectors or networks—we mean all of us, collectively, shaping something better. This is about the many, not the few, and it’s about recognising that digital transformation is work we must do together.
The Story So Far….
Over the past few years, the Ipswich & Suffolk Tech Network (ISTN) has shown just how much can be achieved when dedicated people unite around a common goal: bringing inspiration, learning, and opportunity to the region’s technology community. From grassroots meetups to professional development events, ISTN has proven that collaboration and shared vision can strengthen skills, create connections, and help the local tech ecosystem thrive.
