A Sad Day for Suffolk Tech Community

Total we lost one of the good ‘uns. Our very own Vice Chair, Martin Rush. You may have noticed we have been quiet for a while and sadly the reason was that the backbone of our group, the inimitable Martin Russ, had been ill for some time and today he found some peace.

Martin loved being at the intersection of technology, creative, and commerce - coming up with innovation, strategy, insights, persuasion, and new combinations/solutions. As a result, he nurtured his ideas via research and development into technologies, patents, and development programmes - and then downstreamed them as products or created partnerships or startup companies.

Martin was a multi-skilled innovator with extensive experience in leading online, multimedia, IT security and software development. A dynamic, innovative, enthusiastic communicator and business analyst, who researched, developed and applied leading edge software and architecture to multimedia, IT security, gaming, audio and video in both corporate, standards, international projects and start up environments. He consistently delivered results far beyond the mundane and predictable.

That’s the official blurb - to us Martin was a friend, a drinking buddy (especially at The Thirsty Robot), and most importantly a mentor. We’re all richer for knowing him and will miss him greatly. RIP Martin.
